Issue One

Welcome to Issue 1 of The Moving Force Journal!

Beautifully illustrated with photos and paintings from half a dozen artists from all over the world, our inaugural issue contains over 100 pages of content and features outstanding short stories and poetry that we feel will stand the test of time. This issue includes new classics from 17 writers and poets who explore the transformations that shape our lives, from the changes of the seasons, to the ever-shifting dynamics within our personal relationships, to the evolution we experience within ourselves.

These pieces illustrate how nothing, how no one, gets by without scars. Even those landscapes that seem unchanging, such as the canyon featured on the cover, when given enough time, will develop, change and oftentimes deepen, sometimes for the better, sometimes not.

Yet despite, or perhaps because of, these changes, beauty still remains. As Dickens said in Great Expectations, “I have been bent and broken, but I hope into a better shape.” We hope you’ll enjoy the work shaped by our talented contributors.
